2015 Summer Math Activities
Dear Parents,
We are asking students to complete another Math Challenge! The Math Challenge is designed to keep students engaged in math practice and problem-solving over the summer months. With regular practice, students are more likely to retain their conceptual understanding and start their new grade level with a stronger foundation.
Eden Park's Math Challenge is designed to reinforce skills that were taught the previous year and that will continue to be built upon the following year. Activities and worksheets at the K-2 levels are intended to be completed collaboratively by students and parents and those for grades 3-5 are to be completed more independently (with minimal parent support). Students are asked to complete Activities/worksheets at their grade level but can complete activities/worksheets at other levels to meet their individual needs. Students who complete the Summer Math Challenge will be rewarded for their endeavors!
As your partner in education, we are asking you to encourage your child to complete the Summer Math Challenge to help fight summer boredom and keep learning gains on the rise!
The Math Activities and Worksheets must be returned to school NO LATER than the FIRST WEEK of school. I will continue to check student's IXL progress over the summer!
Thank you,
Mrs. Palumbo
